The End of the Line

(C)Copyright 2008, C. Burke. All rights reserved.

I originally thought that I would save this for my last strip ever.
But, just like a line, I don't know where the end of this strip will be,
so I used it now.

Besides, anyone who knows me and trains knows that I wouldn't go to Wilbury.
I'd have to take A Stop at Willoughby first.

Can he do it alone? Will he have to? Or is there help waiting for the asking?

Comic #150 coming on Monday

It's been another 50 comics already ... but, yes, that's including the Sunday stick-man strips and the filler strips. In fact, I held back a comic this past week because I didn't want today's Super-Stick-Man comic to be #150.

That'll be tomorrow.

Means and Extremes

Originally, I wanted the Extremes to have machineguns, and then I thought about rifles. And then I realized what numbers were involved. It's scary that my mind works that way.

Large Surge in Hit Count Thanks to Stumblers

The beginning of the month saw a HUGE surge in hits for the (x, why?) site on Comic Genesis.

This mostly has to do with Stumble Upon, where people have stumbled upon my pages. Most hit once and are out. A handful stuck around and read most or all of the cartoons. That inflated the hit count.

It looks like it's back to normal now with about 600-700 hits per day.

However, if any of my readers are "Stumblers", please stumble on my site and click the "I like it!" button. And add a Review. It couldn't hurt.

Sunday: Super-Stick-Man #16: Enter Pretzel-Stick-Man

The second Sunday installment of Super-Stick-Man can be seen here.

As the title says, this one features the notorious Pretzel Stick Man.
Yeah, this is kind of where it started to get really, really weird.

.

My high school English teacher was a comic book fan and one of the main reasons I kept doing this strip. He'd even asked, "Burkey, where's the new Stick-Man? I haven't seen one in a while."

He was also a stickler for spelling. Misspelled words were an automatic 10 point deduction on essays. Seriously, one A student had an error with a comma and would've received a 97 -- except for three spelling mistakes, which lowered the grade to 67. No exceptions, even though he thought the essay was "brilliant".

So it's funny today to realize that he never pointed out that I had misspelled "Sinister" at the bottom of the page. Granted, it was page 2 of a four-page booklet, but I'm sure that he should have noticed it. And I probably would've corrected it right then and there.

Well, it's been wrong for 27 years. It can stay wrong.
